Then the Plaza de Espana itself! It is a huge, absolutely gorgeous building, lots of tile work, with terraces accessible by old, Beauty and the Beast-like staircases. The inside was somewhat eerie, and looked like it hadn't been modified in decades. There was peeling wallpaper, graffiti, chipped stones, pigeons nesting in the rafters, and it was dark and cool inside when compared to the bright 98 degree weather outside.

All along the bottom of La Plaza was a series of altars with mosaic-like pieces on the wall, depicting historical scenes from all the major cities in Espana.
La Plaza was also muy bella at night.
